Troops Rescue 12 Civilians From Terrorists in Zamfara

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued 12 civilians in separate operations against terrorists in Kaura Namoda and Tsafe Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

The operations were conducted on Monday, according to the operation’s Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja.

In Kaura Namoda, troops responded to a distress call after terrorists invaded a home at Tsohon Tasha. The troops engaged the attackers, forcing them to abandon six abducted civilians and flee across a nearby river.

“The six victims were rescued and later taken to safety before being reunited with their families,” the statement said.

In Tsafe, troops monitoring the Main Supply Route spotted terrorists trying to intercept a Sharon vehicle at Kwanoni Village. They moved in and engaged the attackers.

“The terrorists were forced to abandon the attack and flee into a nearby bush, allowing the troops to rescue six more civilians,” the statement added.

“The two operations demonstrated the commitment of Operation Fansan Yamma to protecting lives and property while disrupting terrorist activities in its area of operation,” it added.
