Former Oyo State Secretary to the Government, Alhaji Abdul Waheed Akintola Olajide, has died.
Olajide served under the administration of the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
He died on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, with his family confirming his death in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday.
The family said, “It is with gratitude to Almighty Allah for a life well lived, and with submission to His will, that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and cousin, Alhaji Abdul Waheed Akintola Olajide, who returned to his Creator today, August 25, 2026.
“May Allah grant the entire family and all his loved ones the strength, patience and comfort to bear this loss.”
The family also announced that the Janazah prayer would be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the MAN Centre, Oke Ado, Ibadan.
