Afrobeats star David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has described himself as a loyal Cristiano Ronaldo fan and claimed he regularly speaks with the football icon.
The singer made the revelation during a livestream with content creator and streamer Carter Efe.
Davido said he wanted Portugal to win the recently concluded 2026 FIFA World Cup because he has close ties with several players in the national team.
“Because I have a lot of friends in the Portuguese team. I want Portugal to win,” Davido said.
After Efe suggested his support was because of Ronaldo, the singer responded, “I love Ronaldo, I’m a CR7 fan.”
Davido also claimed he stays in touch with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, saying in Pidgin English that he speaks with the “legend back to back.”
He later showed Efe what appeared to be a chat conversation with Ronaldo on his phone.
Reacting with excitement, Efe repeatedly shouted:
“God, I don mad! I don mad! I don mad! I don mad!”
The video has since spread widely across social media.
Davido has long shown his love for football and has been seen with several international football stars.
