A 47-year-old man, Samuel Adesina, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping his 14-year-old biological daughter and committing incest in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Adesina, a native of Ondo State, was found guilty of the offences committed at his home on Aka Itiam Road, Uyo.
During police investigations, he reportedly admitted in an extra-judicial statement that he had been having sexual relations with his daughter since May 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown.
The case was decided on Thursday, October 29, 2026, when Justice Gabriel Ette of the Akwa Ibom State High Court, sitting in Uyo, found Adesina guilty on two counts of rape and incest.
In reaching his decision, the judge considered the evidence presented in court and relied on Section 135(1) of the Evidence Act 2011, as amended.
The court sentenced Adesina to 20 years in prison for rape and another 10 years for incest, bringing his total prison term to 30 years.
