President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has criticised former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar during a political rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
While addressing supporters, Tinubu took aim at Obi over the erosion problem in Anambra, accusing him of failing to tackle the challenge during his time as governor.
“One governor (Peter Obi) claimed he is in one party they call NDC who is running for president. He ran away from erosion in Anambra state, he couldn’t confront erosion”
The President contrasted Obi’s record with his own efforts, claiming he had successfully tackled the threat posed by the Atlantic Ocean.
“I, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I confronted the Atlantic Ocean. I tamed it for you,” the President said.
Tinubu also questioned Atiku’s character and loyalty, pointing to his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and move to another political platform.
He argued that the former Vice-President’s political moves showed a lack of leadership and questioned why Nigerians should vote for him.
“They lack leadership and character. If a man (Atiku) that was once upon a time a baby of PDP became father later and because of a little inconvenience he ran away from that party and formed a dangerous camp in another party, is that a leadership trait!!! And he wants you to vote for him!” he added.
