2027: APC Bribing Assembly, Reps Candidates With N50m, N200m, Cars To Forfeit Their Tickets — NDC Chieftain Galadima Cries Out

Buba Galadima of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is crying foul. He claims the All Progressives Congress (APC) is handing out millions of naira and vehicles to opposition candidates willing to drop out of the 2027 race.

Galadima made the claim on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Tuesday. He alleged that state House of Assembly members who give up their tickets to APC candidates get N50 million. House of Representatives members, he said, are allegedly offered N200 million plus a car.

“We are only 100 days away from the general elections. Like every politician, except those in power, [we] are watching their backs because, as I speak to you, I don’t think there is any candidate outside the APC who is sure of contesting this election,” he said.

“Every member of the House of Assembly who agrees to forfeit his ticket for the APC candidate is currently being given N50 million, and members of the House of Representatives will be given N200 million with a car.”

He also named a woman from Zamfara State, saying she dishes out the money to candidates who agree to withdraw. According to him, she met with APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda about four days ago and showed off candidates who had given up their tickets.

“In fact, she just held a meeting about four days ago with the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, showing some candidates who have forfeited their right to contest the election. They wrote resignation letters and collected the money,” Galadima said.

He accused President Bola Tinubu and APC governors of wanting a smooth ride to victory. He also said opposition politicians are being blocked from campaigning freely and attacked in some places. And he questioned political ad costs, claiming a billboard in Imo State goes for as much as N1 billion.
