VIDEO: Poverty Bites Harder As Abuja Residents Run After APC Campaign Bus, Throwing Bread, Rice At Them

A group of Nigerians were seen chasing an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign bus in Abuja as bread and packs of rice were shared with residents ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In the trending, youths and adults could be seen running alongside the moving van as they tried to collect the food items being thrown or handed out.

Some residents stretched their hands towards the vehicle, while others followed it down the road in the hope of getting packs of rice and bread.

The footage captured the scramble as the campaign vehicle continued moving through the area, with residents rushing after it for a chance to receive the food.

The incident comes as concerns grow over food insecurity, rising living costs and worsening economic hardship affecting millions of Nigerians.

Food and other basic goods have become much more expensive in recent years, leaving many households struggling to afford their daily needs.

The use of food items and other palliatives during political campaigns has also continued to fuel debate over efforts to attract voters ahead of elections.

The scenes have now raised fresh questions about the level of economic hardship in the country, especially the desperation seen among citizens trying to get basic food items during political activities.
