VIDEO: Police Teargas Rhodes-Vivour, Funso Doherty During #EndSARS Memorial At Lekki Tollgate

Police fired tear gas at activists and other Nigerians who gathered at the Lekki Toll Gate to mark six years since the #EndSARS protests against police brutality.

The gathering was organised to remember those who lost their lives during the historic demonstrations and honour their memory.

Trouble began shortly after the crowd assembled, as officers fired tear gas canisters to break up the gathering. The police action affected several participants, including Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, and Funso Doherty of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Despite the disruption, the activists stood firm in their call for justice and police reform. They vowed to continue the fight and ensure that the victims of the #EndSARS protests are not forgotten.

The gathering brought renewed attention to the events of the 2020 protests, which drew nationwide attention to allegations of police brutality.

However, the situation at the Lekki Toll Gate has since calmed down, and the area has been cleared.
