Actor Saidi Balogun has stirred reactions online after using numerology to suggest that President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima are destined to spend eight years in office.
Balogun made the claim on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at what appeared to be a birthday event for Shettima. The gathering featured APC “Renewed Hope” branding and banners with the message “Together We Build, Together We Prosper,” giving the event a campaign-like appearance.
Speaking to the crowd, the actor asked guests to count the letters in the names “Asiwaju” and “Shettima.” He noted that both names have eight letters, which he said meant the two leaders would complete two terms.
“If you pick the two names of both the president and the vice president, it will give you eight, which means they are spending eight,” he said, before spelling the names with the audience.
Balogun also described Shettima as “intelligent” and praised the “number two man” for standing firmly behind Tinubu.
The video later went viral on X, with users mocking the actor and questioning whether he understood the government’s policies or was seeking political favour.
One user, @Agehmaito247, wrote: “Lolz Egbon u better face ur film and let this pple be.” Another, @CBNEdu, asked: “…because of numbers of alphabets in the name so they will spend 8yrs?”
