Former Kogi State governor Ibrahim Idris has died at the age of 77.
Idris reportedly passed away in the United Kingdom on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
Details surrounding his death remain sketchy. However, family sources said the former governor had been battling a protracted illness.
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has since expressed condolences to the family of the deceased.
In his message, Ododo described Idris as a man who made meaningful contributions to politics and business.
The governor also remembered his last meeting with the former governor in March 2024.
According to Ododo, the meeting took place during a visit involving political stakeholders from Omala Local Government Area.
