Edo lawmaker Honourable Natasha Osawaru has promised to become Nigeria’s president before her grandfather, businessman Gabriel Igbinedion, dies.
Osawaru made the promise while celebrating Igbinedion’s 92nd birthday, as she spoke warmly about how much he means to her.
She described her grandfather as someone who had become “sweeter and better” with age. She said being around him was amazing and admitted that she sometimes felt like crying because of her deep love for him.
“I promise you that I will be the president of this country before you die, amen in Jesus name. And I’ll make you very, very proud. And I promise to do better, better, better every day,” she said.
Osawaru also prayed for Igbinedion to live much longer, saying the family would celebrate his 94th, 95th, 96th, 97th, 98th, 99th and 100th birthdays, “up to 150 in the name of Jesus.”
She also asked God to continue protecting him, saying, “I cannot live without you. May God bless you, my grandfather. I love you so much.”
