GehGeh Breaks Silence as He Reveals Truth Behind Viral Wedding

Content creator and relationship commentator Emmanuel Obruste, better known as GehGeh, has disclosed that the wedding ceremony which drew massive attention online was not real but a publicity stunt and social experiment.

Videos of GehGeh and a woman wearing matching burgundy traditional outfits at what looked like a wedding spread across social media over the weekend. The clips led many people to believe the outspoken influencer had secretly married.

The videos also attracted criticism from fans and fellow content creators, who accused him of going against his long-standing views on relationships and marriage. Some of his family members even wondered why they were not invited.

Speaking in an interview with StreamRewind, GehGeh explained the event was never meant to be an actual wedding.

“We organised everything as a normal promo. And so far, apart from the fact that we purposely did it, I still wanted to get the public’s reactions,” he said in Pidgin English.

He said the plan was also meant to clear up what he called misunderstandings about his “GehGeh Wisdom and Knowledge University”.

“Some people have a misunderstanding about my GehGeh Wisdom and Knowledge University. When you see some people, the major thing they have been saying is that GehGeh told them not to get married, but I got married,” he said.

GehGeh maintained he has never told people to avoid marriage completely, saying he supports polygamy instead of monogamy.

“I did not kick against marriage. I said, ‘Do not marry, and even if you must marry, go for polygamy.’ This is because polygamy is the path that guides a man’s heart from heartbreak,” he said.

“Because when you are with different women, it will be hard for one woman to manipulate you. And this was what our forefathers practised. That is the core principle of my university,” he added.

His explanation comes days after the viral videos triggered heavy debate on social media, with many questioning if he had abandoned the relationship beliefs that define his online image.
