Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has reacted after finishing third in the voting for the 2026 Ballon d’Or award in London, with the young star insisting that his moment will come.
The Spain international shared a message on social media on Tuesday night, October 17, expressing confidence in his future despite missing out on football’s top individual prize.
At 19, Yamal finished behind England captain Harry Kane and France captain Kylian Mbappé in the final voting. However, the Barcelona forward made it clear that he remains confident about achieving his career ambitions.
“It will come; good things take time. I trust the path I am building. My time will come,” Yamal wrote.

The winger also congratulated Kane after the Bayern Munich striker claimed the award.
Although he missed out on the main prize, Yamal still left the ceremony with an individual award after winning the Kopa Trophy.
The honour added to a season in which he celebrated winning the La Liga title with Barcelona and a 2026 World Cup triumph with Spain.
