Nigerian music star David Adeleke, better known as Davido, says he is ready to take on a new challenge by stepping into acting while also putting more money into film projects.
Speaking in a recent interview with Vibe Q, the award-winning singer shared that acting has been one of his long-time goals and confirmed he has already started investing in the movie industry.
Davido said he sees music as something that never stands still, comparing its growth to the way technology keeps changing.
“Music evolves. Just like technology, Apple every year, they’re bringing out a new iPhone. That’s the same way I look at music. There’s always a new sound, there’s always a new creative idea, there’s always a new way to tell your story,” he said.
He revealed that he is executive producing two films this year with his director, Dammy Twitch. He also disclosed that a major documentary is currently in the works.
Davido said that even with all he has achieved in music, he wants to keep growing creatively by trying new areas within the entertainment industry.
“I want to get into movies. I want to start acting soon. I have invested in two movie already as an executive producer. I also have a documentary coming. It is very very big. And yeah, I do want to act at some point in the future,” he said.
He added that music is still his first love, but he is looking forward to telling stories through film and other creative outlets.
