Spanish club CD Tenerife have confirmed the death of their 30-year-old striker, Jesus de Miguel Alameda, after he suffered a serious injury during a match against FC Andorra.

The club announced his death in a statement on Tuesday, saying he passed away at 8am local time. Tenerife described the loss as a painful tragedy for the club, his family and supporters.
“Broken in pain, with a knot in the throat and unable to believe this is true, from the CD Tenerife we communicate the tragic death, this Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 8:00 hours, of Jesus de Miguel Alameda,” the statement read.
“There are no words of comfort; there is absolutely nothing to mitigate this feeling of sorrow. We are together with his heartbroken family, together with his loved ones, together with all the Tinerfenism that today cries for this cruel outcome,” it added.
The club said De Miguel’s family appreciated the messages of support but asked the public to respect their privacy while mourning.
The striker suffered the fatal injury on Monday during Tenerife’s Spanish second-division match against FC Andorra at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium.
The incident happened late in the game when he collided with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono while both players chased a loose ball. De Miguel fell unconscious, forcing players to call for medical help. Owono received a straight red card.
Medical workers treated the striker before rushing him to Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria. He reportedly suffered cardiac arrest in the ambulance but was revived.
He remained unconscious in intensive care. Tenerife later reported that his neurological condition had worsened before announcing his death.
The match was abandoned in the 108th minute with the score at 2-2.
