Kenyan Woman Left With Brain Damage After Alleged Poisoning At Her Birthday Party

Kenyan entrepreneur Roselyn Ashanti Mchuna has reportedly suffered 50 per cent brain damage after she allegedly consumed poison at her birthday party in Mombasa.

Roselyn, who was doing well in business and ran several Airbnb establishments across different towns, celebrated her birthday with friends and loved ones on February 14, 2026.

However, the celebration took a tragic turn when she suddenly collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.

According to an account shared by Simon Mwangi Muthiora, medical findings indicated that Roselyn had consumed a poisonous substance during the party. Her condition was reportedly critical, leaving her in the intensive care unit (ICU) for months.

The entrepreneur was said to have suffered 50 per cent brain damage. She reportedly became unable to speak, walk, see or eat and is now being cared for by her mother.

Following the incident, her family reported the matter to the authorities as an alleged attempted murder, hoping an investigation would uncover what happened.

However, the family claims that no one has been summoned or arrested in connection with the case despite their report.

The allegation of poisoning has not been independently verified, and it remains unclear whether toxicology results or other investigative evidence confirmed it as the cause of her condition.

Roselyn’s case has raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding her collapse at the birthday party. Her family is still seeking answers about the incident and the progress of their complaint to the authorities.
