The African Action Congress (AAC) has asked President Bola Tinubu for permission to inaugurate its Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, Abuja, on 11 November 2026.
In a letter dated 21 October 2026, the party’s National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, said the event would take place “in preparation for the 2027 general elections.”
The party also requested food, drinks and other logistical support for 5,000 guests expected from Nigeria and abroad.
According to the AAC, the request was “consistent with the arrangements reportedly extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement.”
The party argued that approving its request would show the Presidency’s commitment to fairness and equal treatment of political parties.
“In the spirit of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties,” the letter stated, adding that public institutions should serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination.
The AAC said it expects a favourable response from the President. It also asked the Presidency to provide details of the procedures and conditions required to secure approval.
The letter was addressed to President Tinubu in his capacity as President and Commander-in-Chief at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.
Omoyele Sowore is the AAC’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
