A group of friends who attended the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have recreated a photo they took 28 years ago as undergraduates.
Tuokpe Onuwaje shared the old and new pictures on Facebook, showing how the friends reunited to recreate their decades-old memory.
The original photo was taken in 1998 when they were students in the university’s Computer Science class. In 2026, they recreated the picture during Evelyn’s 50th birthday celebration.
Sharing the photos, Onuwaje wrote in the caption: “1998 vs. 2026!
“28 years between these two pictures, but over 30 years of friendship!
“From the classrooms of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Computer Science Class of ’98, to recreating this priceless memory at Evelyn 50th birthday celebration!
“Who would have thought that all these years later, we’d still be making memories together? Different years, different locations, same beautiful people!”
The reunion captured the lasting bond between the friends, who have remained close decades after their university days.
