Police Arrest Teen Boy Over Alleged Gang-Rape of 16-Year-Old Girl 8 Times in Delta Hotel

Delta State Police spokesperson, SP Edafe Bright, has spoken on the arrest of a teenage boy after a viral video showed the alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl at a hotel.

The girl said she went to the hotel after one of the boys, whom she called a friend, offered to pay her transport fare. She said three boys were in the room at first, but two later had sex with her.

According to her account, the two boys had sex with her eight times despite knowing she was menstruating. She said she begged them to stop, but they continued. She later left the hotel while they were asleep.

However, one of the suspects, also 16, gave a different account. He said he had sex with the girl twice, while his accomplice, Goodluck, did so three times. He also claimed the girl never told them she was on her period.

Edafe questioned the teenagers about the incident and expressed concern that both the suspects and the victim are minors.

He also disclosed that one of the boys was involved in internet fraud. The teenager admitted that he and his younger brothers engaged in Yahoo.

Edafe said, “Their both parents have failed them. It’s very, very sad. Please, if you know you don’t have what it takes to take care of a child, beg in gospel, don’t bring that child to this world.”

He warned that the law would take its course, adding that being a minor does not automatically remove legal consequences.
