Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has warned Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho to be careful about what he says regarding referees.
Mourinho hit out at the referee after Real Madrid suffered a 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid in Sunday’s LaLiga derby.
Real Madrid were reduced to 10 men after defender Dean Huijsen was sent off. Atletico then scored twice through Alejandro Grimaldo and Jonathan David.
Antonio Rudiger later gave Real Madrid hope when he headed in a goal, but Atletico managed to hold on for the win.
Mourinho was unhappy with the referee’s appointment after the match. He called the referee young and inexperienced while also questioning the decision to appoint the VAR official.
The Real Madrid boss also claimed the VAR referee had been involved in several controversial situations involving the club.
Simeone responded by urging managers to be careful with their comments about referees.
