VIDEO: ‘I’m Deeply Sorry Sir’ — 52-Year-Old Desmond Elliot Prostrates, Kneels as He Apologizes to Gbajabiamila, Begs for Reconciliation

Lagos State House of Assembly member Desmond Elliot has apologised to Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, over his actions during the last All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Lagos.

In a video circulating on social media, Elliot was seen on his knees pleading with Gbajabiamila for forgiveness and asking to be taken back into the ruling party in Lagos.

“I’m sorry, I have no excuse, I have nothing other than to say I’m deeply sorry and I am hoping to be cultured in the future,” Elliot said.

The apology came after a disagreement between Elliot and the APC leadership over the May primary for the Surulere Constituency I seat.

Elliot had pulled out of the exercise, claiming his supporters faced intimidation and political pressure. He later rejected the result and said he would use the party’s appeal process to challenge the primary.

He eventually lost the APC ticket to Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, who was believed to have Gbajabiamila’s backing.

Odunuga-Bakare won the primary with 11,385 votes, while Elliot secured just 270 votes.
