Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has cautioned married men against finding themselves in situations where they rely on their wives for food, saying it could lead to humiliation and emotional strain.
Speaking during an appearance on Isbae U’s interview show, Curiosity Made Me Ask, the respected actor stressed the importance of men maintaining their role as providers within the family.
Drawing from his long marital experience, Edochie said his advice comes from lessons learned over nearly six decades of marriage.
He said: “I want you to listen properly. This is wisdom from somebody who has been in that institution for almost 60 years. I have been married for the past 57 years.
“If things change and your wife has to feed you for two or three days, you would want to take poison. The kind of insult that will be heaped on you because your wife is feeding you, don’t ever think about it.”
The actor maintained that men should not overlook their responsibility to support their families, warning that depending on a spouse for basic needs could result in ridicule and discomfort.
