The senator representing Ondo Central, Adeniyi Adegbonmire, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win the February 20, 2027 presidential election.
Speaking with journalists at Akure Airport on Monday, where he was welcomed by hundreds of APC supporters, Adegbonmire said the party’s internal problems in some states would be settled before the election.
He said, “So, we are going to win. In fact, we have no opposition. I can tell that for free. So, I have absolutely no fear at all.”
The senator said Tinubu had performed well since taking office in 2023, arguing that his administration had improved Nigeria’s financial position.
“When we got to power in 2023, Nigeria was technically bankrupt. Now, we have over $54 billion in foreign reserves. Somebody has achieved that in three years. It’s a record. So, let’s be factual. Let’s not be emotional,” he stated.
Adegbonmire admitted that Nigerians were facing hardship but said the government’s policies would eventually improve the situation.
“There would be problems. There would be challenges. But at the end of the day there is light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.
He also predicted APC victories from the presidency to the state and National Assembly elections.
