Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho says he expects Vinicius Junior to return for pre-season training on Monday after his summer break.
The Brazilian forward has been at the centre of transfer talk throughout the summer as talks over a new contract with the LaLiga club continue.
Vinicius has spent more than a year in discussions over an extension, but both sides have yet to reach an agreement. With no breakthrough so far, Arsenal have stepped up their interest in the 26-year-old.
His current contract is now entering its final months, adding more attention to his future.
Despite the ongoing uncertainty, Mourinho believes Vinicius will be back with the squad after featuring at the World Cup.
“I’m worried about not having the other players,” Mourinho told the media, following the 2-2 draw with Fiorentina on Saturday.
“I’d like to have three weeks with all of them, but it’s not possible.
“Vini, Brahim and Bernardo Silva will arrive on Monday.”
