A Nigerian couple, Abinye Douglas Pepplechi and his wife, Tochi, are celebrating the arrival of their first child, a baby boy, after 15 years of waiting.
Tochi shared the joyful news in a Facebook post on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, where she expressed gratitude to God and encouraged others who are still praying for children not to lose hope.
She said their experience was proof that God remains faithful, adding that He sees the pain of those waiting and hears their prayers.
“GOD CAN BE TRUSTED! God has blessed us with the precious gift of a son! After 15 years of waiting, praying, and holding on to hope. Our hearts overflow with gratitude as we hold this beautiful answer to prayer in our arms,” she wrote.
Reflecting on their long wait, Tochi described their son’s arrival as a reason for a lifetime of thanksgiving. She also shared a Bible verse from 1 Samuel 1:27.
“Fifteen years of waiting, and now a lifetime of thanksgiving. What a faithful God we serve! “For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him.” — 1 Samuel 1:27.
She further sent words of encouragement to people still trusting God for children.
“To anyone still waiting and trusting God: may our testimony encourage your heart. He sees your tears, hears your prayers, and walks with you through every season. May He renew your strength and fill you with hope.
She concluded by asking people to join her family in thanking God for their newborn son.
“Please join us in thanking God for our precious son. To Him alone be all the glory.”
