Nigerian woman Chiamaka Igbokwe has said she would not consider marrying a man who cannot provide basic household appliances such as a washing machine, blender and freezer.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, October 22, Chiamaka made it clear that love alone is no longer enough to convince her to settle down with a man.
She explained that these are things she already provides for herself as a single woman and would not give up her comfort to struggle after marriage.
“I’ve said it before, a man that cannot provide basic things like washing machine, blender, freezer, and co…. things I did for myself as a single lady has no business asking me to marry him…..he’s simply not ready,” she wrote.
Chiamaka further stressed that she would not leave her comfortable life to start managing hardship with a partner, adding that men who cannot meet her expectations should look for women who are willing to live that way.
“I’ll never leave my comfort and move into suffering or management….love is no longer enough.
“You can go look for someone that understands suffering better. Yeye Dey smell.”
