A boy reportedly swept away by floodwaters in a rural community in Enugu State has been found alive and rescued, one day after he went missing.
A video shared online on Wednesday showed the boy being located and taken to safety, drawing emotional reactions from people who witnessed the rescue.
Social media user Uche Nwora, who shared the video, said the incident happened in Enugu State. However, details about the boy’s identity and exactly how he was swept away were not immediately known.
Nwora said the boy was rescued a day after floodwaters carried him away.
Eyewitnesses could be heard celebrating as they shouted, “Jesus, Igwe, Jesus, Igwe. Hallelyah.
The rescue comes as concerns grow over the dangers of flooding, especially in communities exposed to heavy rainfall and poor drainage.
