Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has alleged that his disagreement with the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum is linked to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma’s ambition to become Senate President in 2027.
Wike made the claim during an interview with TVC News on Monday while discussing the controversy over the Rainbow Coalition.
The APC Governors’ Forum, led by Uzodinma, had rejected the coalition formed by Wike, saying its activities could affect the political interests of some APC members.
Reacting to the development, Wike described the APC leaders as “lazy politicians.”
Speaking on TVC News, the FCT Minister said President Bola Tinubu was aware of his political activities and supported him ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said, “All this noise against the Rainbow Coalition is about the ambition of Governor Hope Uzodinma to be Senate President in 2027.
“President Tinubu knows about the Rainbow Coalition. There is nothing that I am doing that he is not aware of.”
